About the property
Situated just 4 miles from the Suffolk coast of Southwold, Elms Farmhouse is a stunning grade II listed building dating back to the 15th Century. Rumour has it that Voldamort actor Ralph Fiennes spent his first few years as a child in this very house.
Nestled up a quiet country lane, this beautiful farmhouse sits back from the road with plenty of parking to the front. To the front of the house, there is a games room to the right complete with table football and pool table. To the left, is a walled garden which is secure should you wish to bring your four legged friends of the dog variety with you on your visit. To the back of the house, is a spacious and private garden with a large heated pool within an enclosure for all year round swimming.
Inside Elms Farmhouse, everything about the house oozes history and period features. The house has just undergone a refit at the end of 2023/2024. The large country style kitchen is very well equipped to cater for a full house of 18 and has seen many a meal easily rustled up. There is also a useful breakfast room immediately next door which doubles up as another relaxing area / children’s play area. The lovely lounge with flat screen television and soft seating for 18 is ideal for relaxation and has a wood burner for those colder wintry evenings. The house also boasts a wonderful dining room which is perfect for the whole household to gather around for dinner.
In this large holiday house, there are 8 bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms (1 ensuite). All bedrooms have crisp white Egyptian cotton linen and excellent quality duvets to ensure a lovely and relaxing night’s sleep.
This is the ideal big house to rent as a holiday home for the whole family to relax and entertain in.
The property is located in Wangford which has a local village shop, farm shop, 2 pubs, a veterinary practice and petrol station. Just under four miles away is the quintessentially British seaside town of Southwold with its sandy beach, beach hut-lined promenade and pier, fabulous shops and boutiques, and of course home to Adnams Brewery. The stunning beaches of Walberswick are well worth a trip out to visit and walk along being just 7 miles from Elms Farmhouse. The village also has a small centre of shops and a couple of pubs.
The whole area is geared up to the upmarket tourist trade and there are numerous attractions for all of the family to explore: beautiful Suffolk villages; medieval castles; RSPB Minsmere; the burial ground of Anglo Saxon Kings Sutton Hoo; Jimmy’s Farm; golf courses; the Suffolk Punch Trust and many many more…..
